Our Unique method
The Process
Most of our recycled cotton is made from pre-cosumer waste, such as scrap cuttings.
The waste fabric and materials are sorted by colour.
The textiles are shredded into raw fibre.
The raw fibre is then spun back into yarn for reuse.

Raw Materials

Regenerated fibres

Recycled polyester

Blended Long Staple Yarn
The End Result
Our Yarn is now OEKO-TEX certified and our research methods are audited on an annual basis.
Responsibly made, the raw materials are derived from an approximate composition of 65% recycled cotton / 35% recycled polyester. The fabric clippings collected are processed and regenerated in accordance with the international standards of OEKO-TEX and GRS (Global Recycled Standard) into Hydrocycled cotton. This yarn regeneration reduces both the amount of waste produced and the need for new virgin material to be harvested.
For everyday confidence
Recycled materials checked to protect you, your family and the planet.
Safety ensured through testing for harmful substances.
Challenges faced
When textiles are shredded into raw fibre, it is a very harsh process and this puts a lot of stress on the fibre. The shorter staple in the fibre results In the yarn being unstable with poor durability, lack of strength and a tendancy to pill.
This mechanical recycling process shortens the lifespan of the finished garment. Therefore we have blended recycled polyester with the recycled cotton to give the fibre more elasticity, improved strength and durability.
Through research and testing we have tested different ways to blend the fibres and have come up with a way of layering the yarns to intertwine the fibres to create a longer staple length. We have found that a combination of 65% recycled cotton and 35% recycled polyester achieves the best durability and strength.
Recycled cotton and recycled polyester are spun together to create Hydrocycled cotton.
